Gardening Advice
Gardening is a hands-on hobby that can be enjoyed by people
of all ages and diverse backgrounds. You will find that within
the ranks of home gardeners the town dentist, the friendly
janitor from our high school or even your family doctor from
around the corner. It doesn't matter what they do for a living
as much as the idea that they enjoy gardening for its own
value.
The old adage that everyone has an opinion is as true with
the issue of gardening as any other topic. Ask anyone a
question concerning gardening and you will likely find no one
who will stand up and admit that they know nothing about the
subject.
Each person will provide you with their personal opinion as
to how to garden the best way possible. If you were to
follow-up on that question and ask the same people if they have
a garden of their own this year, you will more then likely get
a resounding "No" for an answer.
When I require advice on gardening, I have found that one of
the best places to go is to my State Extension Office. These
people who are from our local university usually are
professionals who are well educated in botany and biological
science.
They work day in and day out with topics relating to farming
and gardening. They also have labs where they are able to
analyze items which perplex them during their research. They
know where to find answers if they encounter problems during
the course of their work.
These people know what they are talking about unlike Uncle
Jed or Uncle Ben down the street. Learn properly and visit your
local extension agency.
